The Team

Ashley Mizzell Founder, Executive Director

Ashley is a firm believer that well being is a birthright. As a survivor herself, she has felt compelled to be of service by sharing mind-body practices that cultivate inner awareness that may allow a break in generational trauma cycles, after experiencing the benefits of holistic intervention in her own trauma recovery. Her passion for accessible health advocacy to bridge the gap in racial and social inequities in wellness, is only a small sector of her advocacy for liberation of marginalized populations. Firsthand, she has learned domestic violence intersects every social justice issue.

Before starting BTB, Ashley spent eight years in the real estate and housing industry. Ashley is a registered yoga teacher, trained in various styles of yoga, and specializes in trauma-informed yoga. She is currently an IAYT clinical yoga therapy candidate.

Founding BTB is a part of Ashley's commitment to dismantling

systemic issues in her community by offering resources, services, tools, and support to facilitate healing.

She is an USAF disabled veteran who has spent years overcoming personal and collective trauma through the holistic practices and healing effects of yoga. She offers spiritual insight for people's journeys as she walks them through their yoga practice and into stability, clarity, and hope by offering tools of the practice and coping skills for their daily life. Nicci is an advocate for the health and wellness of all humans and the end of trauma's impact on women's lives in particular. She is honored to be a part of this board of directors.
